The Singapore Ice Hockey association is pleased to announce the commencement of its inaugural Ice Hockey Technical Level 1 NCAP Coaching Course. An initiative by the Association to further develop the sport in our country, the course is designed to equip coaches with the knowledge and skills to better teach the sport, and will be held over 3 weekends in February.
The course will include a skills assessment on the first weekend of the course that will determine the eligibility of each participant’s entrance to the program. Should a participant fail this segment, he will not be accepted into the advanced phases.
Once a participant has been accepted into the program, he will undergo a full weekend of coaching curriculum under the tutelage of course instructor Darrin Harrold. Once the theory segment of the course is through, participants will then have to log 10 hours of coaching with any one of our affiliate clubs. Upon successful completion of the course, participants are also required to have an NCAP Level 1 Theory and Standard First Aid certificate before being accepted as coaches by the Rink.
Interested participants are required to fork out $250 for the course and be a member of the Association. Participants who do not have membership can either sign up for our annual membership at $50, or sign up for the guest membership just to partake in the course.
